A car Maintenance Plan through MotorHappy makes scheduled maintenance easy, by taking care of everything included in a Service Plan, plus wear-and- tear components such as wiper blades and brake pads. The plan also covers unscheduled repairs, parts and labour and not just routine servicing as per the car Service Plan.

A Service Plan pays for specified aspects of the recommended services of your car by an approved facility for a specific term or kilometers travelled, whichever comes first, (in the Republic of South Africa). Filters, spark plugs and lubricants are normally covered by our car servicing providers. A Maintenance Plan pays for everything included in the Service Plan, plus the replacement, maintenance or repair of specific wear-and-tear parts, when necessary

A Service Plan pays for the cost of servicing your car in line with the manufacturer’s specified guidelines.

You can buy a Maintenance Plan in the following ways:

• Full upfront payment - pay the full price by credit card or EFT
• Monthly payment option is available only over a period of 4 months.

Your car is eligible for a Maintenance Plan if, at the date of purchase, your car:

• Has travelled less than 80 000 km; and
• Is less than 4 years old (calculated from date of first registration)

Your Maintenance Plan starts at the start date and runs either for a specific term (e.g. 3 years) or kilometres (e.g. 45 000 km), whichever comes first, as stated in the owner’s manual. The plan's months starts on the date of purchase or the end of the existing or manufacturer plan, whichever comes first. If an existing plan or manufacturer plan ends on term instead of kilometres, the contract will be changed with our consent, at your request and by way of a signed document between us.

Your Maintenance Plan is not a fixed-term contract. It runs for a specific term (e.g. 3 years) or kilometres (e.g. 45 000 km), whichever comes first.

Your Maintenance Plan will automatically end when:

• You reach the prescribed kilometres or term as stipulated in your owner’s manual.
• You fail to service your car within the manufacturer-specified service interval for the second consecutive time.
• Your car is damaged beyond repair or destroyed before the expiry of the Maintenance Plan.

It is possible to cancel your Maintenance Plan. You can do this by giving us at least 20 business days’ notice in writing, or by contacting our Customer Care Centre at customercare@motorhappy.co.za or phoning us on 0861 642 779. You can also contact the Maintenance Plan administrator directly. Full details of cancellation procedures are available in the Maintenance Plan booklet provided when the plan is purchased.

If your Maintenance Plan is fully paid up and you want to sell your car, you can transfer your Maintenance Plan to the new owner.

Manufacturers require that you service your car at a specific term or kilometres (e.g. every 15 000 km). Some manufacturers will require that your car be serviced at a specific term (e.g. 12 months from date of first registration) even if you have not driven the specified number of kilometres. Refer to your owner’s manual for requirements.

Yes: Roadside Assistance will be available from the start date of your Maintenance Plan.
